Lake Titlow

Set on beautiful Lake Titlow and founded in 1881 Gaylord, MN is rich with history. The area was originally a trail way for the Dakota Territory and later became stop on the M & L St. Rail Line drawing the towns first settlers. Today Gaylord is the county seat for Sibley County and is a home for large national employers like Wakefield Pork & Michaels Foods.

Education

Gaylord, MN is a part of the Sibley East School System which features a brand new elementary school with a day care as well as a newly remodeled high school. The schools have been upgraded with state of the art technology and the newly implemented STEM program provides students with focused learning into the disciplines of Science, Technology Engineering and Math. The PCO (Parent Community Organization) is very active and holds fun events like movie nights, carnivals, & the annual fall festival.

Gaylord  awakens in the summers with the weekly outdoor music series “Music on Main” and a farmers market. Families from all around come to visit the new Gaylord Aquatic Center which features water slides, a splash park and a climbing wall. Swimming and aerobics classes are also offered daily. The oak tree lined City Park features something for everyone with a new playground, beautiful gardens, & Walsh Field where baseball teams from all over the state compete. Gaylord’s Eggstravaganza is the towns biggest event and is held in City Park in August. Attendees can enjoy food, live music, special events and a fantastic fireworks display.

Casey’s offers made to order subs, soft serve ice cream and pizza that is second to none.  The newly remodeled EJ’s Bar & Grill is  great place to grab a drink with friends and boasts a full bar and an extensive menu for every taste.  The Prairie House is your typical small town diner offering great pies and daily specials. Lastly, local watering hole Niesen’s features weekly bar bingo, meat raffles, poker nights, & pool tables.
